StableWizard

Co-founder · CTO & CISO

Welfare-first management for thoroughbred racehorses.

Stables still run on paper and memory. StableWizard replaces that with continuous capture — devices feed a live dashboard, and a reading outside a horse’s own historical range raises an alert before a person would notice. Early virus detection, and longer racing careers.

Core claim
Detect before symptoms

Horse-centric, not stable-centric

The insight the platform is built around is that the useful comparison is not horse-against-population, it is horse-against-itself. A temperature that is unremarkable for the yard can be clearly wrong for one animal, and that difference is where early detection lives.

So every record — performance, health, care, feed, work — attaches to the horse and builds its baseline over time. Out-of-range readings escalate to whoever needs them: the trainer, the vet, the club.

Why it matters commercially

Welfare and performance are not in tension in this industry — they are the same variable measured at different times. A virus caught days earlier is weeks of racing preserved, which is the argument that gets a welfare platform bought rather than admired.

My remit

Co-founder, and both CTO and CISO. The second title is not decorative: the platform holds veterinary records and commercially sensitive performance data for competing stables, on shared infrastructure. Tenant isolation and access control are product requirements, not operational ones.

TED — cut a pool’s running cost without touching the pool.

A pool pump is often the largest single load in an Australian home, and almost all of them run far longer than they need to. TED is a smart plug and app that works out how long the pump actually needs, schedules around weather and tariffs, and ties runtime to measured water chemistry.
